About Anastasia

Anastasia began her musical education at the young age of three, when she started learning the piano with accomplished piano teachers Roderick and Nola MacFarlane. Anastasia initially learned piano using a combination of the Suzuki Method and AMEB exams. She has performed solos at the Sydney Opera House seven times, with her first appearance at the age of four. Since then she has gone on to win over 60 first place prizes in numerous Sydney Eisteddfods, and perform at various recitals. She was awarded a full music scholarship to Presbyterian Ladies College Sydney in 2003. At the age of 14, Anastasia was awarded her Associate Diploma in Music (AMusA) in piano. She then went on to achieve full marks in her HSC for Extension Music. In 2011, Anastasia sat and passed her Licentiate Diploma in Music (LMusA) in piano.

Anastasia also plays the violin and viola. She began learning the viola at the age of nine and soon took to the violin as well. Throughout her high school years, she was an active member in orchestras and quartets, as well as pianist in the school trio.

Anastasia has completed a Bachelor of Psychology with Honours at the University of Sydney, as well as a Music Major, with a Distinction average. Anastasia often combines the principles she has learnt through her psychology degree and training as a provisional psychologist, to the lessons in the areas of teaching, memory, practice and reinforcement.

Anastasia now specialises in teaching piano, theory and HSC Music tutoring. She strongly believes that all children have the capacity to become great musicians, and strives to bring out the full potential of all her students.
